New Street. New Look

After playing around with a high poly model I made on maya, I've decided to rebuild and change my street to a lower poly model with a darker look to it.
As it stands the current model is very crisp and clean, however, due to wanting a post apocalyptic feel to my model I talked to my lecturer, Laura Weston about a more "organic feel" to the scene to give the street more character giving more mise en scéne.
I have looked into close ups of fly and moth wings as well as bacteria to try and find and create ideal textures.



 
 
The images above are close up's of parts of different insects, each I feel, looking like a different material; stone, glass, metal and wood.
Using similar textures like this I am able to create a more organic feel to my street and using photoshop on the texture, give them a darker feel giving the overall mise en scéne a 'gritty' feel to it.
